Early Life & Biography
Badr Hari was born on December 8, 1984, in Amsterdam, Netherlands. When he was young he was bullied all the time in school and came home crying. His dad took the decision to enroll him in the local Gym at Seven years old.
Hari was trained under the guidance of former World Champion Mousid Akamrane in Mohammed Aït Hassou Gym. Then he joined the famous Chakuriki Gym run by Thom Harinck. After his previous Gym moved to Rotterdam.
Hari became ready to fight, in 2005 he lost a fight against Stefan Leko, Hari decided to switch the Dutch flag that he was fighting under to the Moroccan Flag.
Career & Success Story
At 11 years old Badr Hari started fighting as a junior. Seven years later he got 50 amateur fights on his record and was ready to fight at a professional level. Badr became famous after his revenge match against Stefan Leko in 2005 which he won after knocking out Leko with a spinning back kick.
In K-1 New Zealand 2006, Hari started a street fight in the press conference and got knocked out of the ring by the Australian fighter Peter “The Chief” Graham resulting in broken bones in kari’s jaw.
In 2007, Hari won his first K-1 World GP Final, in the final against Remy Bonjasky. In 2008, K-1 World GP punished Hari by stripping him of his heavyweight title, his runner-up title in the tournament, his prize money from the tournament, and the full amount of his fee for participation in the tournament.
Hari had also fought talented fighters like Rico Verhoeven, Benjamin Adegbuyi, Ismael Londt, Gökhan Saki, and Anderson Silva and won 2007-2008 K-1 Heavyweight Champion, 2008 K-1 World, Grand Prix runner-up, 2009 K-1 World Grand Prix runner-up, 2009-2010 It’s Showtime Heavyweight Champion, 2014 Fight Series 1 Heavyweight Tournament Champion and other Champions.
